face="Times New Roman">Los clásicos experimentos de Anfinsen (1973) mostraron
que la información que una proteína necesita para alcanzar su conformación
nativa, estructura químicamente activa, esta contenida en la secuencia de amino
ácidos. Sin embargo, los mecanismos que guían el plegamiento de una proteína no
están aun claramente comprendidos y, a pesar de los avances realizados, este
constituye <I style="mso-bidi-font-style: normal">uno</I> de los mayores
problemas no resuelto de la biología molecular<SUP>*</SUP>.

style="mso-bidi-font-style: normal">a</I>) hacer un análisis, simplificado, del
plegamiento de proteínas; (<I style="mso-bidi-font-style: normal">b</I>)
explicar algunos métodos desarrollados para resolver este problema a nivel
atómico; (<I style="mso-bidi-font-style: normal">c</I>) presentar algunas
aplicaciones exitosas en la predicción de la estructura tridimensional de
proteínas; y (<I style="mso-bidi-font-style: normal">d</I>) mostrar como, a
partir de estas aplicaciones, podemos comprender <I
style="mso-bidi-font-style: normal">muchas</I> de las dificultades existentes en
resolver el plegamiento de proteínas.<o:p></o:p></FONT></FONT></SPAN></P>
